Our timber is responsibly sourced from FSC certified European forests, reflecting our commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
Every frame is built from the ground up by skilled makers using time honored joinery methods. Precision doweling, bonding, and mechanical fixing create strong, durable connections designed for a lifetime of use.
Where visible, the timber is hand finished to highlight its natural grain and character, creating a foundation that is both refined and exceptionally robust.
The Springs, Engineered Support
Every sofa is built around a carefully selected suspension system, chosen to deliver the right balance of support, comfort, and durability for each design.
Serpentine Springs
High tensile steel springs provide consistent, resilient support and work with foam and fiber layers for a responsive sit. They can also be replaced when needed.
Coil Springs
Individual coil springs offer a deeper, more traditional sit with excellent shock absorption and shape retention. They can be restored or replaced as part of future refurbishment.
Elastic Webbing
Heavy duty elastic bands create a flexible, supportive foundation with a softer, more yielding feel. They are ideal for compact and slimline designs and can be retensioned or replaced over time.
Padding and Form
Comfort is carefully engineered through a considered layering of premium foams and fillings, creating the perfect balance of softness, support, and durability.
Every foam component is precisely hand cut and shaped to patterns developed for each design, allowing the padding to follow the exact contours of the frame. Surplus material is responsibly recycled to reduce waste.
Our craftspeople build the padding layer by layer, carefully sculpting each piece to achieve its intended form, from deep Chesterfield curves to clean contemporary lines.
Cushion interiors are then tailored to complement the structure, creating a soft yet supportive seat designed to retain its shape and comfort for years to come.
Upholstery and Deep Buttoning
Precision and craftsmanship come together during upholstery. Every leather and fabric is CNC cut from digitally stored patterns, ensuring an accurate fit, consistent finish, and minimal material waste. Remaining offcuts are repurposed into hand finished showroom swatches.
For patchwork designs, individual fabric sections are carefully selected and hand stitched together, making every piece unique and entirely handcrafted.
Deep buttoning is a defining feature of a true Chesterfield. Each button is individually hand set, drawn deep into the upholstery, and secured with precise stitching. Every tuft is carefully tightened and balanced by hand, creating the distinctive depth, rhythm, and sculpted finish that makes each piece timeless and built to last.
Finishing Touches
The final stage is where individuality takes shape. Every piece is completed by our skilled craftspeople under one roof, ensuring consistency, precision, and a high standard of finish.
Each sofa is made to order, with bespoke options including border styles, button detailing, foot shapes, and wood stains. Every detail is carefully selected and hand finished to complement the design.
Decorative studs are individually positioned and hand set directly into the frame rather than applied using pre made strips, creating a stronger, more precise, and lasting finish.
