Old English is a premium aniline pull-up, tanned with a blend of oils and waxes to give a crackled, distressed finish. Its colour and sheen shift as the leather is pulled or stretched, which is the point rather than a flaw.
Cracked Wax is a half grain semi-aniline with a matt finish that lightens where stretched, and its waxed surface moves, cracking and repairing itself over time.
Urban and Vintage are both softer semi-anilines, hand buffed to an almost silk-like feel while keeping most of the natural patina intact.

Wherever possible we place heavier growth marks on the outside back and keep large scars off the tops of arms and cushion panels, though on a piece this size it cannot be avoided entirely.

Both are dyed right through the thickness of the hide using the best quality skins available. Semi-aniline then receives a light surface coating after dyeing, which makes it more durable and better suited to domestic use.
Full grain means the natural grain surface has been left intact rather than buffed back to hide blemishes. Our aniline and semi-aniline ranges keep that surface, which is why they show the most character.

Entirely normal, and they are signs of a genuine hide rather than a corrected or artificial surface. Scars, growth marks, grain variation and slight shade differences between hides are all expected on natural leather.
Dust it with a soft dry cloth, condition the hide every six to twelve months and blot spills straight away. Keep it away from radiators and direct sunlight, and treat aniline hides with a little more caution.
